'Harnai' beach aka 'Maharshi Karve' beach is a quiet, scintillating beach famed for the clean softy shores and safe waters. It gives a feeling of immense pleasure to see the beach filled with wings stretched magnanimous Seagulls at any point of time in the year.
It is breathtakingly beautiful with the palm groves lining by the shore of it. Due to all these facets it attracts a lot of visitors especially during weekends. The city is itself unpolluted and unexplored. Away from the mundane hustle and bustle of Mumbai, it offers a picturesque escape into the lap of mother nature.
The slender alleys meandering into different parts of this little sea-side hamlet is it's specialty and makes it stand in non-conformity with it's allies. Hence it is a cut above the rest. The 'Harnai' village situated in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra is a home to myriad temples. The Durga Devi temple, The 'Siddhi Vinayak Ganapati' temple to name a few.
The Siddhi Vinayak Ganapati temple does deserve a special mention. This antediluvian place of worship that dates back to the 18th century still attracts a lot of pilgrim from all over the country because it is assumed that this temple has a divinity to abrogate all sorts of obstacles and distress from one's life and can initiate a human being to the paths of salvation.
The 'Durgadevi' temple is another ancient place of worship where throngs of pilgrims are seen time and again who come wholeheartedly to venerate the goddess who symbolises courage and power. Built in the 18th century the temple has a pyramid like roof with Terracota tiles. It also has a pond adjacent to it and a hanging temple bell to the left of the main entrance.
